A Typical Lesson At St Osmund's

Whilst each subject has its distinct character and strategies, at St Osmund's we have developed an agreed way of working based on evidence-informed practice: The St Osmund's Typical Lesson. Please see the attachment below for the eight aspects a typical lesson involves. These aspects have been carefully developed over time through professional learning amongst teaching colleagues keeping high expectations for all learners at the heart of each teaching episode.

You will also see in this document the five key questions senior leaders explore when undertaking daily quality assurance of teaching across the school:

1.What are you learning in this lesson?
2.Why are you learning this?
3.How will you know you have been successful?
4.What can you do to help yourself if you are stuck?
5.What do you do to challenge yourself if you finish early?
